On February 21, acting on behalf of organizers in the 2007 Terry Fox Run Zagreb, the Ambassador Thomas Marr handed over a cheque in the amount of HRK900,000.00 (approximately C$180,000.00) to the Director of Rebro Hospital Dr. Reiner. The funds raised have been used to buy 1 Ultrasound digital Colour-Doppler System with three probes, 2 Patient Monitors, 14 Infusomats for the children's oncological ward at the Salata Hospital.
This humanitarian action has become well established with the Croatian public during the eight years of its existence in Zagreb. In addition to broad public support, the Terry Fox Run in Zagreb has engaged Governments and institutions at the city and national levels along with our dedicated partners. One of them, Mr. Joe Basic, is the head of the local organization managing all future Terry Fox events in Croatia.
